However, you ask yourself “Does Wendy’s hire felons?”

Wendy’s official policy
Unfortunately, there’s no official word with Wendy’s just yet. We did try to reach out and ask them directly whether or not they do accept felons in their payroll, but all attempts result in failure. However, we’re not really giving up or something like that, but for now, we will have to stick with what we have.
Looking through Wendy’s website, there’s no such thing as felon-specific policies. That doesn’t mean our research failed to bear anything useful. After all, we did find this

Did some felons successfully join Wendy’s payroll before?
Our research yields a very mixed result. Some people say that Wendy’s have previously hired people with felonies, but there are also a good amount of people saying they don’t. We’ve also scratched the back of our heads after finding out. We still have not reached any conclusive point, but it does support their statement that each franchise holds its autonomy when it comes to hiring.

How about people who misbehaved?
There’s actually no direct discussion about people who previously exhibited misdemeanors. If we do have to guess. We think that it’s also up to the outlet’s management to decide. Basically, the same when it comes to people who have committed felonies.

Did Wendy’s join the Ban the Box list?
It can obviously easily get awkward for a former felon like yourself to be asked about your previous mistakes in life while simply seeking for a decent job. We understand that. It’s also our pleasure to tell you that there are already some initiatives against this act. These initiatives primarily aim to ease former felons’ job applications by removing discrimination against them.
One such initiative is Ban the Box. They basically put pressure on companies to not look at a person’s past, but look at their qualifications and skills instead. If they do that, it’s obviously easier for former felons to land a job.
Supporters of Ban the Box have to agree on the Fair Chance Business Pledge which promises to commit to fair hiring practices.
Unfortunately, Wendy’s does not support Ban the Box. Don’t get disheartened now. Not being part of the list does not necessarily mean that they absolutely don’t hire former felons.

Do they have any special programs for hiring felons?
To put it bluntly and simply, Wendy’s does not have that sort of thing. They don’t give any special programs for former felons.
What are my chances of getting hired?
Based on our research, we can’t really quantify the percentage of how possible a former felon can be hired. The responses and data are just too varied. Plus, Wendy’s is giving every outlet autonomy on how they wish to hire their crew. On the other hand, that’s actually good news. That means that there’s a chance of getting hired even with a felony conviction. After all, each outlet has its own hiring procedures.
What entry-level job can I apply for in Wendy’s?
There are a lot of job vacancies at Wendy’s, but they didn’t really specify what they were looking for those applying for managerial positions. Don’t worry though, we do know what they’re their entry-level positions responsibilities are.
Crew Member — Part- and full-time hours. Duties include: Assisting customers, handling payments and register, preparing food, taking orders, stocking, and cleaning.
So, how do I get hired?
As a company, Wendy’s heavily relies on franchising. That means that almost every outlet is owned by a different individual. That’s also mainly the reason why each store is given autonomy with their hiring requirements.
Despite that, we did our best to put together some important stuff to focus one when applying. Yes, even with a felony conviction on your records.
Ready your resume/application

Prepare for an interview
Keep in mind that you’re applying for a major fast-food chain. In addition to that, you will probably face customers once hired. That said, it will do you good to keep an upbeat and friendly character during the interview process. In fact, your character and personality will play a huge role during the entire hiring process.
An interview is a two-way process. This is the perfect time to open up about your criminal history. It’s better that you explain it to them than let them know of it another way and cause other misunderstandings. Grab this opportunity to explain your own circumstances. In addition to that, also grab this opportunity to ask your own questions.
Do they really do background checks?
If you’re wondering and kind of tempted to lie then just cross your fingers about it, stop. Wendy’s do background checks and you don’t really want to get found out lying.
However, there is some stuff you must know first about these background checks.
There are actually some states who don’t bother about offenses that are more than seven years old. Obviously, that’s great news for those who’ve been out for a while now.

Searching about how their own employees rate them, we did some online digging about Wendy’s. Their employees rated them 3.1 out of 5 stars on average in glassdoor.com. This is actually good for a fast food joint. Keep in mind that they employ tens of thousands of people, so bad reviews will be out there. Plus, there are also discounts and promotions for employees working there. If you can handle the heat, join the fleet!
What kind of cases will more probably not get hired?
It’s a given that Wendy’s is on the customer service side of the business. That said, you’ll probably have some difficulties if you are convicted of assault, both violent or sexual, due to obvious reasons. Being convicted with such cases has a negative connotation of committing the same mistakes again.
In addition to that, there are also financial handling and/or management responsibilities. Having a history of theft or fraud will also put you in a bit of a hitch.
Does Wendy’s Drug Tests?
Just like whether or not they hire former felons, there’s also a varied data regarding if Wendy’s drug tests. Generally speaking, it varies depending on their location. The best thing to do is to skip any drug activity and get prepared for having a drug test.
